The ingredients needed to cook Vanilla cookies:
- Use Butter
- You need Icing sugar
- Take Powdered sugar
- Provide Vanilla essence
- Prepare All-purpose flour
- Prepare Baking powder
- Prepare Milk
- Prepare Red food colour
Steps to make Vanilla cookies:
- Sieve all-purpose flour and baking powder. Keep it aside.
- In a separate bowl, cream together butter and sugar. Add vanilla essence to it.
- Add flour mixture to the butter-sugar mixture and combine well. At this stage, mixture will look crumbled.
- Gradually add the milk and make a smooth(crack-free) dough. Divide the dough into two parts in ratio 2:1.
- In the large portion, add red colour. Roll it into 5 mm thickness and cut hearts using a cookie cutter.
- Stack all the hearts(one on the other) with little water in between. Freeze it for 30 minutes.
- Remove from the freezer and cover it with a white dough. Roll the heart log to obtain a smooth surface. Put it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
- Slice the heart log to 5 mm thickness.
- Take old kadhai, take about 1/2 kg salt in it. Place metal ring of at least 1” height in the center and put metal plate above it. Cover it and preheat on a high flame for about 15 minutes.
- Once preheated, transfer cookie balls on the steel plate greased with oil.
- Cook on a low flame until edges turn slightly golden(for about 20 minutes).
- Immediately, Transfer them to other tray so that it doesn’t over cook(burn from the bottom).
